  • Overview

    The Dietetics Aide may perform a variety of duties such as; distribution of patient trays, working in ware washing, sweeping and mopping of floors in the department, removal of trash, cleaning of trash cans & lids, performing food production activities, disposing of food & beverages properly, serving on the patient and/or cafeteria tray line by maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary work environment. This position will follow BRHC and Dietetics Department policies & procedures, work as a team player, & assist with the training of new personnel.  

     

    The Dietetics Aide reports directly to Dietetics Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    1.      

    Delivers and returns patient meal trays, open racks & meal trucks to and from the Dietetics Department to patient floors in a safe and sanitary manner by following BRHC and Dietetics Department policies & procedures.

    2.      

    Keeps assigned work areas cleaned by; sweeping & mopping of department’s floors, removal of trash and cleaning of containers, stocking of paper towels and soap dispensers, cleaning of grates, and completing the general assigned cleaning duties.

    3.      

    Set up/clean up of patient and/or cafeteria tray line with food, beverages & serving utensils, and placing any leftover food items in appropriate place following safety and sanitation standards.

    4.      

    Fulfills patient needs by assembling and preparing for late patient trays, OB snacks, special feedings, late night box lunches, answers the phone and completes the process of filling out the patient’s menu according to the physician’s diet order and adjust the tallying of the production sheets; distribution of patient nourishments.

    5.      

    Cooks food items on the grill by taking customer requests and serves out food to the customers in the cafeteria and operates the cash register with efficiency & accuracy, completes cleaning assignments on the cafeteria line and dining room.

    Qualifications

    • Education

     

    a.) Able to read & write and follow both oral and/or written directions. 

    b.) Able to count money.

     

    • Licensure/Certification

     

          a.)  None required.

     

    • Work Experience

     

          a.)  Experience desired but not necessary.

    1. b) Will provide on-the-job training.
