  • Overview

    The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation of patients; development, coordination and implementation of the treatment plan; maintenance of informative, accurate and timely documentation.   Based on assigned unit/area, the physical therapist could be involved in team meetings, family meetings and home evaluations.  Treatment outside the hospital setting could include home, school or industry.

     

    Physical Therapists are required to keep current national registry and Missouri licensure, in addition to participating in continuing education and training of others.

     

    The Physical Therapist reports directly to the Director of Rehab.

    Responsibilities

    • Evaluate patients/residents/clients and develop treatment plans with goals measurable and functional.
    • Implement treatment plan or supervise PTA regarding implementation of treatment plan.
    • Complete accurate and timely documentation based on the requirement of the assigned unit/area.
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, patient/resident/client family members, physicians and co-workers.
    • Participate in continuing education opportunities and provide training/learning opportunities to others. May be involved with student clinicals.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Must be a graduate from a program of physical therapy which is approved by the Accreditation Committee of the American Physical Therapy Association. 

     

    Licensure/Certification

    Current Missouri licensure

    If working in home health, schools or industry must have current drivers license.

    BLS required

     

    Work Experience

    Prefer 1-year experience for assignment to Home Health.
