The Physician’s Assistant (referred to as the PA) shall have a collaborative agreement with the Medical Director which grants the PA authority to provide care to patients following protocols that have been jointly agreed upon. The PA provides patient assessment, develops a diagnostic impression, and plans the patient treatment following established protocols, and discharge instructions. The PA consults with the attending physician at any time during the process, should a question of patient assessment or treatment occur.
The PA reports directly to the Clinic Site Manager.
Ensures hospital compliance with professional, regulatory, and government standard of care.
Ensure the satisfactory completion of all department clinical procedures by implementing strategies that maximize the effectiveness of medical department. Including coordination, planning and conducting of patient care and by being a resource to the staff.
Organize, supervise, and evaluate patient care by facilitating and implementing the use of multidisciplinary team approach. Also demonstrate knowledge of needs for specific unit.
Evokes in staff sense of responsibility and accountability for the work performance and continuous improvement. He/She also holds self-accountable to same standards.
Participates in committee and task force function as assigned specific to unit or hospital wide.
Physician’s Assistant Licensure
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
TNCC or TNS
Successful completion of hospital orientation
2 years working experience in Family Practice or Emergency preferable
