  • Overview

     The RT/CRT/LPN is responsible for the care of patients in need of Home Medical Equipment. Duties include equipment set-up, patient assessment, patient education, preparation, and maintenance of home medical equipment. Duties will also include contacting patients for medical supply orders and assisting in retail sales.

     

    The RT/CRT/LPN reports directly to the Bothwell Medical Equipment Supervisor

    Responsibilities

        

        

     

        

     

        

     

     

     

     

     

     

          1. 

    Set up of and patient education in the use of home medical equipment to include, but not limited to, Oxygen Concentrators, Cylinders and Regulators, Aerosol Therapy units, Hospital beds, Wheelchairs, and Walking Aids.

          2. 

    Home visits of patients with Home Medical Equipment to include, but not limited to, Oxygen Concentrators, Cylinders and Regulators, and Aerosol Therapy units

          3. 

    Application of FIO2 and SpO2 analysis equipment.

          4. 

    Completion of all clinical and non-clinical documentation and charging procedures in accordance with Hospital and Departmental procedures.

          5. 

    Participation in on-call rotation

          6. 

    Assistance with answering phones and other clerical duties

          7. 

    Assistance with in store retail sales, inventory, cleaning and other duties as assigned

        

     

         

     

         

     

          

     

          

     

         

     

    Qualifications

    Education

          a.) CRT/RT- Successful completion of an AMA Council on Medical Education approved 

               Respiratory Therapist- CRT/RT training Program or Missouri LPN Licensure

     

     

    Licensure/Certification

    a.) Must have valid, current MO Class E Drivers License or obtain Class E within 2 weeks of hire

          b.) Must have a valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

          c.) Must have Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

          d.) Must have a valid, current Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner license.

          e.) BLS certification required

     

     

    Work Experience

          a.) At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
