  • Overview

    The LPN is responsible for the care of patients in need of Home Medical Equipment. Duties include equipment set-up, patient assessment, patient education, preparation, and maintenance of home medical equipment. Duties will also include contacting patients for medical supply orders and assisting in retail sales.

     

    The LPN reports directly to the Bothwell Medical Equipment Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

         

    Set up of and patient education in the use of home medical equipment to include, but not limited to, Oxygen Concentrators, Cylinders and Regulators, Aerosol Therapy units, Hospital beds, Wheelchairs, and Walking Aids.

         

    Home visits of patients with Home Medical Equipment to include, but not limited to, Oxygen Concentrators, Cylinders and Regulators, and Aerosol Therapy units

     

    Application of FIO2 and SpO2 analysis equipment.

         

    Completion of all clinical and non-clinical documentation and charging procedures in accordance with Hospital and Departmental procedures.

           

    Participation in on-call rotation

         

    Assistance with answering phones and other clerical duties

           

    Assistance with in store retail sales, inventory, cleaning and other duties as assigned

     

    Provide patient education in the use of home medical equipment to include, but not limited to home oxygen equipment, Cpap/Bilevel therapy devices, wheelchairs and ambulatory aides.

    Home visits of patients with Home Medical Equipment to include, but not limited to home oxygen equipment and sleep therapy devices.

    Performs overnight oximetry studies and titration of settings for oxygen delivery devices.

    Completion of all clinical and non-clinical documentation and charging procedures in accordance with hospital and departmental procedures.

    Assistance with in store retail sales, inventory, answering phones and other clerical duties. .

    Participation in on-call rotation.

    Cleaning and testing of medical equipment following department procedures. 

    Qualifications

    Education

         a.) LPN - graduate of accredited School of Nursing.

     

     

    Licensure/Certification

    a.) Must have valid, current MO Class E Drivers License or obtain Class E within 2 weeks of hire

         b.) Must have a valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

     

    Work Experience

         a.) At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
