The staff occupational therapy assistant is responsible for performing treatment programs developed by the occupational therapist(s), which includes documenting treatment, attending team meetings, and participating in continuing education.
All staff occupational therapy assistants are required to keep current national registry and Missouri licensure, in addition to participating in continuing education and training of others.
The staff occupational therapy assistant reports directly to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. | Perform treatment program developed by a registered occupational therapist. Meet with registered occupational therapist as required by unit for revision of treatment plans/goals. |
2. | Complete accurate and timely documentation based on the requirements of the assigned unit/area. |
3. | Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members, patient/resident/client family members, physicians and co-workers. |
4. | Participate in continuing education opportunities and provide training/learning opportunities to others. |
