The Cardiac Cath Technologists provides technical support and patient care before, during and after invasive diagnostic/interventional procedures. This position includes the role of: scrub, circulator and hemodynamic monitor. May care for patients ranging from 12 years to 105 years
The Cardiac Cath Technologist reports directly to the Cardiac Cath Supervisor.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. | Assist physician in performance of invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures and maintains sterility of operative site and supplies. |
2. | Operates all Cath Lab imaging and patient monitoring systems before, during and after the procedure. Operates Radiology Information System as it relates to Cath Lab/Special Procedures. |
3. | Communicates information about patient examinations, patient conditions, schedule and equipment to the appropriate individual, including patient and family education. Responsible for patient, peer and personal safety |
4. | Maintains professional communication and relations with all hospital personnel, physicians, patients and family. |
5. | Maintains quality control program for patient monitoring and emergency equipment. Contributes positively to the department's financial performance. |
a.) Graduate from an accredited school of radiology.
a.) Certified in Basic Life Support
a.) One year experience in an invasive Cardiac/Vascular lab preferred.
