The Cardiology Echocardiographic Technologist is an allied health care technician who performs cardiac ultrasounds in their assigned section. This individual is responsible for the performance of diagnostic testing procedures on patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the heart.
The Cardiology Echocardiographic Technologist reports directly to the department director.
Performance of Cardiac-Ultrasound examinations including Transthorasic, TEE, and Stress Echocardiograms. |
Completion of all clinical, non-clinical, documentation, and charging procedures assigned or ordered for completion by his\her section. |
Scheduling of patient testing. |
Cleaning and maintenance of all equipment involved in the performance of job responsibilities. |
Education
a) Associate Degree in health science related area or an equivalent combination of
education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be
acquired.
Licensure/Certification
a) Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
b) Certification in Basic Life Support
Work Experience
a) One year experience as Echo Technologist is desirable.
