Overview

The Lead Clinic LPN is responsible for patient care within the Clinic, trained and capable of performing patient care for the age groups newborn to 105 years old.

 

The Lead Clinic LPN reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

1. Take vital signs, obtain medical history, gives injections and immunizations as ordered by the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Mid-wife.

 

2. Maintain current licensure and proficiencies.

 

3. Maintain required logs and information needed for reports.

 

4. Approves invoices for payment.

 

5. Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.

 

6. Processes, approves, coordinates and schedules vacation, holidays and sick leave to ensure the clinic is appropriately staffed and employee hours/payroll checks are accurately processed.

 

7. Acts as liaison in addressing any employee concerns or issues and assists in the follow-up of any action steps resulting.

 

8. Assists in the preparation of annual staff evaluations.

 

9. Provides administrative assistance and support to staff and providers, contacting the appropriate member of management for assistance as necessary.

 

10. Maintain high level of confidentiality.

 

11. Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments and work areas following safety, cleanliness and infection control procedures.

 

12. Assists in cleaning emergency spills and clinic office as observed or requested.

 

13. Transports trash and soiled linen to designated area for disposal.

 

14. Performs venipuncture, nasal pharyngeal wash/swab, arterial and capillary punctures. Identifies and labels specimens. Conducts lab tests on specimens. Enters data into computer.

 

15. Assists donor before, during, and after donation. Instructs on urine collection procedures.

 

16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Education
  a.) Graduate of an approved Practical School of Nursing.

 

2. Licensure/Certification
  a.) Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing.
  b.) BLS certification required within 6 months of employment

 

3. Work Experience
  a.) Successful completion of orientation for LPN.
