Overview

The Electrician is a licensed electrician able to troubleshoot any electrical problems in the hospital. 

 

The Electrician is an advanced technician with extensive commercial construction experience, and a solid knowledge of electrical code.

 

The Electrician reports directly to the Assistant Director of Facility Services

Responsibilities

  1.             

Principal contact for issues of electrical safety, the Electrician advises the Director of Facilities on all Electrical Code requirements.

  2.             

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance including trouble-shooting of all equipment assigned by the Director.  A preventative maintenance completion rate of 95% is considered the minimum acceptable.

  3.             

Reviews prints and schematics for completeness and adherence to code.  Ensures all construction and remodeling projects meet the required standards.

  4.             

Ensures the transfer switches are maintained properly and that required tests are performed on time.  The Generator Logs are logged and kept current.

  5.             

Performs electrical duties assigned, and trains other department personnel in safe electrical practice while on the job.

  6.             

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School graduate plus electrical training.  Electrical training may be from formal classes, military education or trade schools.

Licensure/Certification

  • As required by city code.

 

Work Experience

  • At least five years experience at the journeyman level.
