The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.
The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager/Director.
1. | Provide guidance and provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s. |
2. | Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions. |
3. | Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate |
4. | Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed. Perform nursing skills (IV placement, NG placement, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, etc.) and provide any other assistance with patient care as needed. |
5. | Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects |
6. | Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance. |
7. | Triage patients and initiate protocol orders as deemed necessary by patient complaint and nursing assessment |
8. | Perform EKG’s after successful completion of training |
9. | Perform collection of laboratory specimens after training including blood cultures. |
10. | Perform point of care testing as indicated after training. |
