The Clinic LPN/MA is responsible for patient care within the Clinic, trained and capable of performing patient care for the age groups newborn to 105 years old.
The Clinic LPN/MA reports directly to the Clinics Operations Director
LPN
1. Take vital signs; obtain medical history, gives injections and immunizations as ordered by the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Mid-wife.
2. Maintain current licensure and proficiencies.
3. Maintain required logs and information needed for reports.
4. Maintain high level of confidentiality.
5. Other duties as requested by Physician, APN, and/or Mid-wife.
MA
1 Works under the direct supervision of the physician to provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting.
2. Obtains patient vital signs and health history, administers screening questionnaires, performs medication reconciliation, and documents all findings in the medical record.
3. Assists the clinician with a variety of procedures specific to clinic specialty.
4. Administers medications, including immunizations as ordered by the clinician.
5. Performs specimen collection and testing specific to clinic specialty.
6. Assists with answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying patient demographic and insurance information, and obtaining outside medical records.
7. Other duties as assigned.
LPN
Education
• Graduate of an approved Practical School of Nursing.
Licensure/Certification
• Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of employment
Work Experience
• Successful completion of orientation for LPN.
MA
1. Education:
• High School graduate.
• Prefer graduate of a Medical Assistant program, but not required.
2. Licensure/Certification:
• Certification as a medical assistant preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
