The Director of Environmental Service / Laundry/Linen is a Management position.

The Director Environmental Services/Laundry/Linen is responsible for the overall management and operation of the organization’s environmental services, laundry, and linen services. This role ensures services are provided efficiently, hygienically, and cost-effectively while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control. The Director will oversee staff, manage budgets, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards

The Director of Environmental Service/Laundry/Linen reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.

1. Oversee the daily operations of organizational environmental services, laundry, and linen.

2. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance, while fostering a productive work environment.

3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient services according to standards and regulations.

4. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with infection control policies, address any deficiencies, and collaborate with the Infection Control Nurse to implement corrective actions promptly

5. Develop and manage the department budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-savings measures without compromising quality.

6. Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers, in collaboration with Senior Leader and associated directors.

7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, maintain best practices for infection control, and conduct regular training sessions for staff on safety, compliance, and customer service.

1. Education:
   a.) Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
        strongly preferred.

2. Licensure/Certification:
    a.) Not required.

3. Work Experience:
   a.) Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership of environmental services, laundry and linen services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
